The fans did spin up (though they're a lot quieter than previous models), and the laptop was warm to the touch right above the function row, but I think that's a small price to pay for such wonderful performance (and I'm sure it could run cooler and quieter if you reduced the resolution or graphics settings). Overall, it played really smoothly, and the game looks absolutely stunning with the miniLED display. I should also note that this was all running through Parallels, so really it was 5 vCPUs and 8 GB of unified memory driving the game.

With those settings, the M1 Pro (10-core CPU, 16-core GPU, 16 GB RAM) was able to achieve around 35-60 FPS, as per the Steam overlay's FPS counter.

The graphics settings defaulted to High, and I adjusted the resolution to match that of the display (3024 x 1964) and turned on VSync. I'm still in the process of migrating all my games over to my 14-inch MacBook Pro, but figured I'd test Elite Dangerous: Horizons.

Incidentally, man prlctl tool shows the tool was updated 14 April 2011 but the guide hasn't been updated since 2008: would be awesome, especially if you can manage via Casper. We have a WebEx session scheduled for Monday. On the first launch problem, where users must navigate to the virtual machine and then add the virtual machine (and of course needing admin rights to do so), hopefully we'll make some headway there too.

Here's their They should have an updated postflight script that we tested over roughly a month of WebEx sessions, they finally nailed the registration problem. Will post when these last issues are resolved and the new package uploaded by Parallels. We extended an open invite to work with our team to resolve. So things take longer than necessary to get reproduced and resolved. Just an observation.the Parallels engineers are very talented but they don't seem to have a LAB where these kinds of deployment solutions can be properly tested.
